Loving Your Laundry
Your Tips
Are you a laundry Dilemma expert? Are your whites piercingly bright? Then Surf wants to hear from you!
Just so we're clear, the tips below are your tips, written by you and tested by you. They are not tested in our Surf lab by men in white coats... and we unfortunately can't guarantee that they work!
Tip #1: Toothpaste Trouble!
To defeat that dubious dab, work quickly because many whitening products contain hydrogen peroxide that may lighten darker fabrics. Gently scrape what you can away and blot with cold water, and then wash as normal. As with makeup, it's a good idea to brush before you dress.
Georgia from Glen IrisTip #2: Deodorant Dilemma!
Let your underarms dry before getting dressed or buy deodorant that dries clear. If you do rush it, gently scrape away what you can. Just don't rub it in. Blot with cold water and let air dry. Watch out for silk though, the water itself can stain the fabric!
Judy from Middle ParkTip #4: Need a Shirt Ironed in a hurry!
Toss it in the dryer with a damp towel or hang it in a steamy bathroom with you while you shower. Then iron the sleeves, cuffs, collar, and the body of the shirt down to the middle.... the rest will be tucked into your trousers or skirt.

Tip #3: Don't damage the delicates!
Wash your bras and lacy undies in a 'delicates' bag (even a pillowcase will do). It will help retain the shape of your delicates, and will also prevent your bras from becoming entangled among your other clothes when removing them from the machine. It is however best to remove them from the bag before hanging them out to dry!
Tip #5: Smells like home!
If your child is going on a school trip overnight, wash their favourite toy and pillowcase the day before- and make sure you pack it. This way your little one won't get home sick, as all they have to do is smell it to feel near to you!
